Vegetarian & Dietary Tips

🥗 Vegetarian options are widely available — especially at Indian, Lebanese, and falafel restaurants.

🌶️ Spice levels can be high in some regional dishes. Ask for "bala tawabil" (without spices) if sensitive.

🐟 Seafood is abundant on the Red Sea coast (Jeddah, Yanbu, Jizan) and Gulf coast (Dammam). Freshness is outstanding.

🍽️ Traditional Saudi meals are communal — you may eat with your hands from a shared platter. This is the authentic experience!

☕ Arabic coffee (qahwa) with dates is offered free as a sign of hospitality in hotels, shops, and homes.

🕌 Ramadan dining : Eating in public during daylight hours is not permitted. Restaurants open at sunset for iftar — expect amazing spreads.
